Janet Sanzo

Janet Sanzo launched her theatrical career at age four appearing as the wicked witch in her sister's high school production of Hansel and Gretel. She studied voice and dance at the Peabody Institute in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland beginning at age 5 and later went on to work in summer stock in the Washington D.C area where she attended college as a theatre major winning critical acclaim for her stage performances.

Likened to Lena Horn for "sheer appeal", Janet has entertained internationally, including her USO tours in Belgium, Germany and Holland. National performances include work in a variety of musicals, musical reviews, children's theatre and dinner theatre productions in Baltimore, Washington D.C, Canada, New York City and the "Borscht Belt".

Janet later received a Master's Degree in Expressive Therapy and moved to Chicago where she has lived and worked, for over 20 years. She has appeared around Chicago at various venues including Petterino's, Twelve West Elm, Chamber's Restaurant, Blue Star Wine Bar, Bistro Margot, the Wilmette Theatre, Eddie V's, Uncommon Ground and The Avenue among others. A former nurse, Janet enjoys performing at senior centers, "I still love to make a contribution to these folks, just in a different way. In January of 2013 Janet performed the first of her sold out one woman shows "What Is This Thing Called Love?" a jazz diary - at Davenport's Cabaret. She has written and performed numerous shows since that time.

Tracks from Janet's debut CD, "More Than Ever", produced by Tammy McCann, are currently receiving national airplay and wide acclaim.
